ABOUT THE COALITION: "Anti Tuesday Coalition? What is that? Could something such as ATC really exist?" You might ask. Well, ATC really does exist, and you just so happen to be at its headquarters. I’m Kyro, the founder of ATC, here to tell you what we’re all about.
Our mission statement is pretty simple: to rid the world of Tuesdays.
Why do that? Well, to answer this very relevant question, let’s first take a look at the other days of the week and what they’ve got going for them.....
Monday: The start of the work-week, Monday is dreaded by many and thought to be the worst day of the week. Contrary to popular belief, Monday does have its benefits. On Monday one can tell friends about what happened over the weekend, or complain that it’s Monday. Often one is well rested as a result of weekend hibernation.
Wednesday: 'Hump day!' Half way through the work week, it’s a midpoint, a time to congratulate yourself for having survived Monday and Tuesday.
Thursday: often called variations of "Little Friday," Thursday offers a glimmer of hope to all. Thursday is a relaxed day, a time for just hanging out--although it can be somewhat of a tease, mocking you and the fact that it is not quite Friday yet.
Friday: The start of the weekend! Fridays have most of the best parties and craziness. Friends are 89% more likely to say stupid and hilarious things on Friday, and it is the day when the best memories are made. Friday is a day to go out, or stay in and relax. Do what pleases ya.
Saturday: Need I say more? Most of us have an addiction to Saturdays, a love for the weekend. Saturday is a day to do what you want--whatever you want, or however you want to. Tie up loose ends here and there, go on an adventure; either way, Saturday is the day of your choice. So make it good!
Sunday: Saturday's sleepy younger sibling Sunday is a quiet day. Sunday is the time to catch up on all that sleep you skipped out on Friday and Saturday nights, and otherwise just relax. Sunday is a kids' weekend day because it's far more special for the younger ones among us: when you get older, it means work or school the next day, and you actually have to get some rest. However, kids already go to bed early, so Sunday still holds all its charm. Nevertheless, Sunday is beneficial as a day to put everything back in order and recover from the awesomeness of Friday and Saturday.
Now lets look back at Tuesday. What does Tuesday have going for it? Nothing. All weekend stories are used up on Monday. The middle of the week is Wednesday, another day away. You have no energy left from the weekend--you used that up, too. Are there benefits to Tuesday? Well, here at ATC we couldn’t think of even one (If you can, feel free to enlighten us at the email address below). Not to mention the negatives of Tuesday… Ever notice how everything goes wrong on Tuesday? You spill your *insert beverage of choice here*, your dog dies, your boss/parent/teacher/overlord yells at you and nags, Black Tuesday, stubbed toes are at least 50% more common, general bad luck…. Face it, nothing good ever comes of a Tuesday. Why spend 1/7th of your existence on such a terrible day?
That’s what we want to know.
Why not take Tuesdays off the calendar altogether?
Sure, it would take changing all the calendars in the Gregorian-calendar-world and recounting the weeks in the year so we would fit 365 days; but is that really so large a price to pay in order to completely and utterly eradicate such a scourge altogether, and never have to suffer through it ever again? Put a stop to it before it goes too far.
Don’t be that kid.
